To prevent post-marketing allergic reactions, NEXIUM 10MG should be taken in conjunction with riociguat (Adempas) or alfuzosin (Xeraspin), as prescribed. Co-administration of NEXIUM 10MG with riociguat may also increase the risk of occurrence of post-marketing post-disease events, such as gastrointestinal hemorrhage, in patients with a history of gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Patients with a history of hemorrhage, which may be associated with riociguat or with concomitant use of riociguat or alfuzosin, should consult their physician before taking riociguat or any other drug for the first 14 days after a hemorrhage is suspected. The duration of treatment with riociguat and the occurrence of post-marketing allergic reactions is based on patients' responses to the drugs, as well as their physician's assessment of the potential risk and severity of these reactions. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal hemorrhage and a history of post-marketing allergic reactions who have taken riociguat within 14 days of the hemorrhage should consult their physician before taking riociguat or any other drug for the first 14 days after a hemorrhage. Therapy with riociguat and/or alfuzosin may be initiated at a low dose to reduce the likelihood of post-marketing post-disease events. Esomeprazole (Nexium) and esomeprazole antacids are extensively chelated with magnesium and are extensively metabolized in the body.
